Unforgettable Africa holidays & tours
Desert cities, steamy jungle, epic waterfalls and wildlife-dotted plains have enticed travellers to Africa for decades.
Want to see wildlife? Search the Big Five in Kenya. Dreaming of getting off the beaten track? We can whisk you away from the crowds in Namibia, Madagascar or Zimbabwe. Fancy a bit of luxury? Sip fine wines and ride a vintage railway in South Africa. Further north, you could discover thousands of years of history in Egypt or enjoy souk shopping and desert landscapes in Morocco.
Safari holidays are always a big draw when it comes to our Africa tours. We don’t take a ‘one size fits all’ approach, either. Opt for a classic safari across four South African reserves, stay put with a week in the wonderful Mabula Game Lodge, take to the skies above Botswana’s Chobe National Park – there’s plenty to choose from.
Africa holidays go big on scenery, too. You could scale the soaring red dunes at Sossusvlei in Namibia. Gaze across Cape Town from the peak of Table Mountain. Feel the force of Victoria Falls, rainbows arcing through the spray. Or tour palm-fringed tea plantations on the tropical isle of Mauritius.
If you’re looking for adventure, you’ll find it here.

What our experts love about Africa holidays
When I'm lucky enough to be out in the African bush, I love to sit out next to the camp fire or on the veranda looking up at the night sky (often with a cool beer in hand). The sheer magnitude of the universe is there to be seen before your very eyes, with billions of stars rolling ever further backwards and shooting stars keener than ever to make an appearance.
What are the best places to visit in Africa?
From South African safaris to tours of tropical Mauritius, our collection of Africa holidays is incredibly varied. Below are some of our most popular destinations - scroll further and you'll find even more inspiration for your next adventure.
If you’re looking for variety, South Africa is a great choice. There’s plenty to see and do here – cities and safaris, wine tasting and whale watching, scenery and starry skies. If you’re focused on wildlife, then a safari holiday can take you to a handful of different reserves (or stick to one for a more relaxed option). For a more comprehensive tour, you might...

Kenya is perfect for a classic safari experience – luxury tented camps and rustic lodges, wide open plains, wildlife snoozing beneath shady acacia trees. You can spot the Big Five, plus giraffes, zebras, hippos, cheetahs and many more across the country’s reserves and national parks. The Maasai Mara is the name most people know, but others that stand out include Amboseli and Aberdare national parks,...

Located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is the largest sheet of falling water in the world. The clouds of mist that rise from the falls are so large that they can be seen from miles away (be sure to pack a raincoat when you’re viewing them up close!). Staying a couple of nights will give you a chance to view the...

History truly comes to life in Egypt. Reminders of the country’s ancient civilisation are everywhere, from the mighty pyramids at Giza to the sandstone tombs at Luxor to the island temples at Aswan. Why visit Africa with Titan?
Whether it’s an adventure across rugged, untamed Namibia or an African safari in wildlife-rich Kenya, the great thing about our escorted tours is their ease. For every Africa holiday, we’ll meticulously plan the itinerary, work out the route and organise any tickets or permits that might be required – and we’ll arrange an expert tour manager to accompany you throughout, so you’ll have somewhere there 24/7 to keep everything running as it should. Each of our Africa tours and safari holidays includes ATOL protection for extra peace of mind.
When is best to travel to Africa?
Wondering when’s a good time to go to Africa? There are different high and low seasons across each region, so it definitely depends where exactly you’re looking to visit. Product manager Phil recommends March for Egypt (warm, but not too hot – a joy for sightseeing), June for Namibia, July for Zimbabwe and Madagascar, and August for witnessing the Great Migration in Kenya. For South Africa, he suggests July-November for the best game viewing conditions.
Where is best for a safari holiday in Africa?
Deciding where to go on a safari can be tricky – there are plenty of options to consider. Kenya and South Africa are where we offer most of our safaris, but you could also explore lesser-visited spots, like Namibia, Zimbabwe or Madagascar.
When it comes to safaris, size really is everything. That’s why most of our African safari holidays are part of our small groups collection – the number of guests on these tours will never be more than 24. Being part of a small group tour allows for a much more intimate safari experience, plus it creates a real sense of camaraderie between you and your like-minded fellow travellers.
Small group safaris give us a lot more flexibility, too. We can stay in smaller, more characterful lodges, and include experiences that wouldn’t be possible for a large group.
What is the food and drink like in Africa?
Our tours give you plenty of opportunities to try some of the local dishes and specialities, whether that’s a tasty tagine in Morocco or a traditional braai (barbecue) in South Africa. Product manager Phil recommends stocking up on red bananas in Kenya – creamier and sweeter than their yellow cousins, they’re delicious snacks and perfect for a post-game drive treat.
Do I need a visa for Africa?
Visa requirements for Africa holidays vary depending on the country (or countries) you’re visiting, the passport you hold and the length of time you’re planning on staying. For the most up-to-date information on visas, please use the quick-check tool on our visa requirements page.
Are trips to Africa physically demanding?
The majority of our Africa tours are classed as ‘moderate’ pace – there’s likely to be moderate walking at a steady pace, and you might be required to walk further distances, including over mixed terrain and up and down stairs. Safaris usually involve early starts and lots of clambering in and out of 4x4 vehicles, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed. If you’re at all unsure about whether a particular tour is suitable for you, please give our travel advisors a call and they’ll be happy to provide further details.
What is the transport like?
It varies between countries and tours, so it'll depend which of our Africa holiday packages you’ve chosen. On our Kenyan safari holiday, for example, you’ll be in 4WD vehicles for the duration of the trip; on our South Africa tours, you’ll be in coaches most of the time, switching to 4WD vehicles for game drives. For more information on local transport, see individual tour itineraries or speak to one of our travel advisors.
Where do I fly from and to for Africa touring holidays?
Where you fly to depends on the tour you choose. All of our Africa tours currently fly from London Heathrow or Gatwick (for connecting flight options, please speak to one of our travel advisors).
What are the hotel options?
All of the hotels, camps and lodges we stay at are handpicked by our team of travel experts. We name them on each individual tour page, so you can see exactly where you’ll be staying each night.
