Epic Australasia tours
Australasia may be on the other side of the world, but the rewards when you get there are well worth the trip. Choose one of our epic Australia tours and tick off iconic travel sights such as Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef and Uluru. Or head to the crisp, unspoiled landscapes of New Zealand for superlative natural scenery and adventures in the outdoors. Our Australasia holidays include escorted tours and Cruise & Tour itineraries showcasing all the highlights, and some lesser-known gems too. So which country will you choose?
Australia is a colossal country of extraordinary contrasts. Most of it is wide red desert interspersed with bush and scrub under a scorching blue sky – an ancient landscape that has changed little in millennia. But then, dotted along the coasts between these vast tracts of land you drive into cool, free-spirited cities whose culture, mood and architecture are as progressive as they come. Sydney is sophisticated and glamorous; Melbourne creative and colourful; Brisbane is dynamic; while quaint Adelaide and big, bold Perth offer compelling contrasts too. Alice Springs in the Great Red Centre is (quite literally) a city apart. It lives and breathes authentic Aussie spirit and is gateway to landmarks including Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
Soaring snow-capped mountains, pristine green plains, glittering blue lakes, gigantic creeping fjords… New Zealand has it all. Larger than the UK but with a tiny fraction of the population, it’s cinematic open spaces and jaw-dropping beauty make it one of the most popular destinations for outdoor - and extreme - sports in the world. But New Zealand also has sophisticated cities and a rich cultural seam that runs from the tip of its North Island to Queenstown in the South.
Can’t decide between the Land Down Under and the Land of the Long White Cloud? See both, on one of our combined grand tours of Australia and New Zealand.

What our experts love about Australasia
Head to Australia between October and March, to escape the British winter for the sunshine filled Australian summer! September and October are particularly good months to visit Tropical Northern Queensland and the Red Centre when temperatures are a little cooler than in the height of the summer months and waters are clearer for peak Great Barrier Reef viewing.
What are the best places to visit in Australasia?
Touring in Australasia offers almost endless possibilities for travellers. Australia’s highlights include pulse-racing cities like Perth and Sydney and signature sights like the Great Barrier Reef and Uluru, as well as fascinating culture and the ethereal, almost unimaginable scale of the Australian Outback. New Zealand, with its cool, crisp, wide-open spaces, is a nirvana for lovers of the outdoors. Visitors come for natural wonders such as the Franz Joseph Glacier and Milford Sound, uncover ancient Moari heritage and spend time in creative, cosmopolitan cities like Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Here are a few of our Australasia must-sees.
The Great Barrier Reef
Where else in the world can you experience a rich ecosystem that spans some 2,000km of coastline? Our Great Barrier Reef holidays not only take you to Queensland, the gateway to the reef and its stunning islands, but they allow you to explore some of Australia's best destinations before and after your reef experience. To see the incredible and diverse marine life on our Australia tours, hop on board a semi-submersible boat and experience an underwater observatory, snorkel in the crystal-clear coral waters or even dive below the waves. The multitude of colourful tropical fish will astound, as will the diverse marine life - think turtles, clown fish and sharks.

No holiday in New Zealand would be complete without witnessing a performance of Maori song, dance and the inimitable haka (war dance) - an experience that warms, welcomes and stirs in equal measure.
