Madagascar. Just the name conjures up pictures of a wild, tropical island that’s home to all sorts of unique wildlife, plants and flowers. And that’s exactly what you’ll find here on our Madagascar holidays. Journey around the island (the world’s fourth biggest) and you’ll come across soaring baobab trees, cheeky lemurs, curly-tailed chameleons and some of the weirdest, most wonderful insect life you’ve ever seen.
The scenery shifts as you move around, too. Ranomafana and Andasibe national parks boast swathes of tropical forest, while Isalo National Park features acres of sandstone canyons and gorges. Along the coast, meanwhile, you’ll find mangroves and dunes (not to mention beautiful beaches).
There are cities to explore on our holidays to Madagascar, too. The capital, Antananarivo, is busy, colourful and chaotic, but offers a good introduction to local life, while Antsirabe has a bit more of a European flavour to it.
